How long do you need to have a SR-22?

It depends upon state laws but in general a SR-22 is required to be held for 3 years. The state requiring you to obtain the SR-22 form is the one that determines how long you must hold it for. The SR-22 certificate of financial responsibility is not required by an insurance c…

In Alberta, can a person with a class 5 GDL license renew and use that license (with the restrictions), on a long-term basis (is the advanced road test mandatory), or will it not be eligible for repeated renewal? Essentially, do I have to upgrade to a non-GDL license eventually?

According to the Ministry of Service Alberta , a driver can stay at the Class 5 GDL as long as they want. You may renew the Class 5 GDL every 5 years just like a normal Class 5. Alberta’s government does not require that at some point you move up to the full Class 5 license how…

I am from Michigan and we have MCCA benefits here. My question is the limits increase every year in July. How does one know what is their limit if they are ever in a serious motor accident? Is the limit for the year you are in the accident or would it be possibly years later when ones medical bills exceeds the limit of that year? Example: If you were injured in 10/2005 the limit was $375,000. It is now in 2/2010 the limit is $460,000. If the injured catastrophic persons medical bills exceeds the $375,00 in 2010 does the MCCA kick in or does it have to exceed the $460,000 in 2010 before the MCCA will grant benefits? Thank you for your time.

The state of Michigan has the most comprehensive no-fault car insurance in the United States. In MI your Personal Injury Protection (PIP) gives you unlimited medical benefits. The Michigan insurance regulator notes about no-fault coverages that if your vehicle is insured in …
